i joined crosscountry today! i totally feel the burn , does anybody have any crosscountry tips for me ?
This is a Sarah Robles appreciation post:
because dickwad Nike and Ralph Lauren can’t be fucked to consider strong, athletic women over 130 lbs.
because her proud mama didn’t get an Olympic jacket.
because despite being the highest ranked weight lifter in the USA, she had hell finding a sponser because she doesn’t look like “tinkerbelle”.
because the Olympics is about athletic ability.
This is also a “fuck you” to fat shamers who would look at her without knowing anything about her and label her “unhealthy”.
Totally love this post and I agree, I just always wonder how they can train like that and still remain big. But whatever, she’s tons stronger than I ever will be so she’s doing something right!
I started at 156lbs this March and ended with 121lbs. Since mid-June, I’ve gained some weight, but I’m working on getting fit and healthy again.
I’ve never really seen my before and after picture like this and wanted to tell people- IF I CAN DO IT, SO CAN YOU!

So according to Victoria’s Secret I can love my body if my waist is the size my thigh currently is, if I am 5’ 9”, if I have long slightly wavy brown or blonde hair, and if I am either white or one very specific shade of brown. Thanks for that, I’ll log that away.
Well, I would like to point out that the waistlines on Dove’s models aren’t shaking things up in a big way (everyone’s stomach is fairly flat with minimum love handles & only slight belly pooch & everyone has the “right” breast-to-body-type proportions). No one has noticeable scars. No one is “visibly” (for lack of a better term) disabled. It’s far better than VS’s poster, but Dove’s leaving a lot of people out of its “Real Beauty” message, too.
Especially considering that their casting call for “Real Beauty” shoots explicitly stated they wanted no scars or tattoos, “flawless” skin, and “not too curvy”.
MUST HAVE FLAWLESS SKIN, NO TATTOOS OR SCARS! … Nice Bodies..NATURALLY, FIT Not too Curvy Not too Athletic.
So it’s less-worse - and I love that there’s a really dark-skinned woman in the Dove lineup, that’s rare even in this sort of “look at our diversiteeez” thing - but it’s not exactly a beacon of “Everyone is Beautiful!” like they want you to think it is.
Also, Dove is owned by Unilever, who also owns Axe (of the dubious fame from their absurdly bro-tastic misogynist advertising). So. Yeah. :-/
I wish Dove’s ads showed more diversity — both in skin tone, race and body shape. The bodies I see in the Dove photo are very similar to one another and I think they’re missing out on an opportunity to show the true variety of “real” bodies out there.
Cucumber sandwich..I like this idea.
OMG. WHY HAVE I NEVER THOUGHT OF THIS!?
best idea EVER!
